Meet Our New Designers

The Black Goose Design is happy to welcome two recent additions to our talented design staff.

Denise Johnson Interior Designer

We are so pleased to have Denise Johnson back after a five year absence.  Denise has a long history with Gardner Mill Co., our parent company, and has spent the last several years as a buyer for two different stores in Gardner Village.  She started working in sales at Gardner Village when she was 16 years old and quickly caught on to the art of merchandising and displays.  Denise was promoted to gift ware buyer and management, where she stayed for 10 years.  After a short hiatus to have her two wonderful children, she returned to be the assistant manager and a designer here at The Black Goose for two years. Denise's 18 years of experience include new construction and remodel projects as well as full interior design from paint and furniture selection to accessories.  She has been passionate about design her whole life. The other long time designers at The Black Goose Design have missed Denise's discerning eye and attention to detail. She spotted this fresh coastal trend long before it hit the Utah area. "I love my profession and feel blessed everyday that I can help my clients fall in love with their homes," says Denise.
Denise loves the beach, yoga, biking and spending time with her kids, which includes managing her daughter's modeling career.

Michelle DeHart Interior Designer

Welcome, welcome Michelle DeHart.  Michelle also has ties to Gardner Mill Company.  She worked at Down To Earth when that store first opened its doors and then moved over to display and merchandising at Country Furniture, now CF Home.  She has owned and operated Fresh Photography Studio as well as buying The Village White Shoppe from GMC.  Michelle closed both of those enterprises to devote herself to full time design.  As the principle designer for a 2010 Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes show house, she worked with the architect to determine site selection and style of this mountain home set on 32 acres in Huntsville, Utah.  Michelle worked with the architect, contractor and homeowners to create a stunning mountain retreat for the couple.  Michelle comes directly from the staff of CTD Construction where she was the principle designer over all spec homes as well as working with clients on custom building projects. "I have always had a passion for design in all of it's forms, so it feels a little wrong to call it a job." Michelle says.
Michelle gets outside as often as possible.  She owns horses and is an accomplished rider. Spending time with her kids, camping and gardening are some of her interests.

Both Denise and Michelle are available in The Black Goose Design showroom as well as in- home consultations by appointment.  Contact them through our website here
