Trend: Industrial Vibe

The bookcase shelves were salvaged from Sam Weller bookstore

From bar stools and lighting to wall treatments and cabinetry, the industrial look seems to be an enduring trend.  Even if you don't live in a renovated factory a few salvage pieces can be incorporated into a casual space, creating that New York loft look.

This pipe bookcase was added to a wall in the home of one of our designers. Inspired by the backdrop of one of Rochelle Jadhi's fashion shoots, Leslie Warren had this birch plywood installed like puzzle pieces. A few antique accessories and some contemporary art mingle with the books and magazines on display.
Over-sized art is another hallmark of loft living as are the bookcase shelves, salvaged from the Sam Weller bookstore.

This small powder bath was given a bit of steampunk flair by replacing the mirror with one made of copper pipe and removing the glass shades on the light fixture to expose Edison bulbs.  Since no one uses this bathroom for applying make-up, Leslie gave it a coat of Ralph Lauren Black Basalt paint for a moody look.

Deep charcoal paint is a nice contrast to the flood of northern light in Leslie's office.  More industrial shelving and metal crates for storage keeps the industrial look going throughout.  The fuchsia geode art is by Black Goose designer, Gwyn Anglesey and adds a pop of color.

Factory lighting is essential to this look.  This metal light fixture, a one of a kind salvage piece is available through the showroom.  Reproduction barrel stave chandeliers on display in our showroom make a bold statement.
